The Government Degree College is established in 1981 by the Government of Andhra Pradesh and is affiliated to Andhra University, Visakhapatnam, to cater to the educational needs of the undergraduate students in and around the coastal town of Bravura. The college is now affiliated to Dr. B.R.Ambdker University at Etcherla in Srikakulam district, due to its geo-regional proximity.
